  • "I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the standard of craftsmanship your contractors displayed on the fitting out of the cladding on the boathouse wall at the rear of the Hovercraft bay. Not only did they retro –fit the cladding, they also gave our internal doors a fresh coat of paint and their work has really made the place shine. Keeping these surfaces clean is going to be a lot easier and this area is often the first thing visitors see so this is very important to us. Please pass on our thanks to Gary & Steve of Vision Interior Projects Ltd for a great job well done."

Stevenage

Vision Interior Projects were awarded the order to repair the pot holes to the main entrance to Airbus Stevenage, following many completed projects at their site in Portsmouth. This particular project included cutting back several large potholes and preparing for new Tarmac. In total 112m2 of new Tarmac was laid over one weekend to ensure minimal disruption to the site.

Project 2:

Airbus Portsmouth’s new restaurant has now been completed and up and running, however it was noticed that the outside seating area had no cover from the sun.
Vision Interior Projects were requested to construct a Timber pergola around the seating area to offer protection to the staff whist they enjoy their lunch outside.
The works were completed outside of normal working hours so that there were no restrictions on the restaurant opening times.

Project 1:

Vision Interior Projects were awarded the order to refurbish the ASX Office within building 48 on the Astrium site in Portsmouth.

General overview of the works included the replacement of dilapidated fabric finishes and the upgrade of the accommodation for both staff and visitors. The existing plaster board finish was at least 1m short of the ceiling height so we had to clad over with new board to the top, fit acoustic insulation and close up on the other side.

All joints were covered with a timber bead to remove the necessity to tape and joint, we also had to remove a door and frame for the adjacent wall and infill with plaster board. A new bespoke cupboard was also constructed to enclose the numerous electric meters on the wall. The office was then decorated and the old carpet tiles removed (210m2) and new Shadow land interface carpet tiles were laid.

Vision Interior Projects have done many refurbishment projects at Astrium in Portsmouth over the last year and hope to be awarded many more.

Located to the north east of the naval city of Portsmouth, the site has played a major role in the development of the UK’s space capabilities since the 1960s. Its 1,400 staff are involved in the design, build and test of:

  • advanced payloads for mobile and military communications satellites
  • world-leading Earth observation payloads with advanced spaceborne radars
  • sensors and scientific instruments such as the microwave humidity sounder
  • payloads for the Galileo navigation system satellites
